New Control Techniques for Those Pesky Moles!

By Mark Dotson For many years there was a one size fits all kind of approach to mole control. The scissor or Victor Out-of-Site trap was the king of the hill for catching moles. Recently there have been some new innovations in the control of moles. A recent addition to the trap family is the No-Mole product. The No-Mole is a totally different design with a type of jaws that form the shape of an L. A unique trigger mechanism in the shape of an oval with a flat side on it fits between two long spring rods. When this trap is placed in the tunnel, the mole pushes the trigger mechanism and is captured in the trap. The beauty of this trap is that it sits entirely underground and out of the reach of children and pets. The traps are very inexpensive and lightweight and can be set without the use of any tools. With this trap being totally underground, you won’t have your lawn care guys screaming anymore after running over a scissor trap and damaging their expensive lawn mowers! Catching moles can be a bit tricky. The trick to catching them is to place the traps in “live” tunnels. In other words, place them in well traveled runs. Tamp down the tunnels by walking on them and see which ones re-appear. These are the tunnels to set your traps inside of. Often where the moles come out of the woods or along a fence line are excellent locations to trap. Mark Dotson, Wildlife Control Expert and veteran mole control professional. How To Help A Stressed Or Depressed Loved One

By Chris Green Having lived with a depressed partner for 3 years and suffered anxiety and depression for 5 years, I’ve experienced both sides. In this article, I’ll show you exactly what you can do - and, what you shouldn’t do - to help your loved one. 1. Please, however frustrated you feel, please never say to a depressed or stressed person: “Come on, snap out of it. What have you got to be worried or sad about anyway. People have it much worse than you.” Please understand that these illnesses cannot be “snapped out of.” You wouldn’t say this to someone with high blood pressure or pneumonia because you know it isn’t that simple. Stress, depression and anxiety are real illnesses that have specific causes. Asking someone to snap out of it makes that person feel inadequate or that they’re doing something wrong. Absolutely not so. Comparing their circumstances to people who are suffering greater hardship is no use either. I couldn’t have given two hoots about other people when I was ill because their circumstances meant nothing to me. I was struggling to solve my own problems and couldn’t see anything else. Knowing that others are starving, are terminally ill, or suffer in squalor didn’t matter a jot because they didn’t make my problems go away. One more thing about such statements: they confront the sufferer with their illness and they put pressure on them. This will cause sufferers to retreat further and further into their own world. Better is to offer love and support: “I’m always here if you need me or want to talk.” And 3 little words can mean so much: “I love you.” I didn’t hear them for 3 years and believe me, I missed them so very much. 2. As a loved one, it is totally natural to want to understand what is happening. Many loved ones conduct research into these illnesses to develop understanding. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. However, a problem can arise if you start to impose your knowledge on the sufferer. This happens when you observe certain behaviors and habits performed by sufferers and comment on why they are behaving in such a way. For example, you hear a sufferer put themselves down, so you say “That’s a part of your illness. I’ve been reading about it and self-deprecation is one of the reasons why people become depressed. You need to stop putting yourself down.” Again, this is confrontational and puts the sufferer under pressure. All they’ll do is dismiss your comments and clam up whenever you’re around as they’ll feel they’re being scrutinised. A better way is to challenge them very gently by reminding them of a time when they did something good. For example, you hear a sufferer say: “I’m useless, I never get anything right.” You can say “Sure you do, hey, remember the time when you…”. Do you see the difference in approach? The first is more like a doctor assessing a patient, the second is just a normal, natural conversation and doesn’t mention stress, depression or anxiety. This is very, very helpful as it shifts focus from a bad event: “I’m useless…” to a good one: “remember when..” without exerting pressure. 3. Finally, you may find a resource - a book, a video, a supplement etc. - that you think will help someone to beat their illness. Perfectly natural. But there’s a problem. It confronts the sufferer with their illness and puts them under pressure to do something about it. The result of this will be resentment followed by retreat into their own world. Isolation is a part of these illnesses. Sometimes, you just can’t bear to be around people. My ex-partner used to sleep in a dark room for an entire weekend because she just couldn’t handle anyone being around her. “I bore people, I’ve nothing to say of interest and I don’t want anyone asking me how I’m feeling. I just want to be on my own.” I know, it cuts you to ribbons when you hear such words from someone you care deeply about. But please, you must resist the urge to DIRECTLY give them a resource you think will help them. For someone to emerge from these illnesses, they have to make the decision themselves. A direct offer will more often than not be refused. So, if you find something you think will help, leave it lying around somewhere your loved one will find it. The idea here is for them to CHOOSE by themselves to investigate further. Such an INDIRECT approach is more effective because once again, there is no pressure, no reminder, no confrontation. It is the sufferer who takes a willing first step towards recovery. It is so hard to understand and reach loved ones when they’re caught up in these illnesses but please believe me, these ideas are very effective and they will help. See you next time. Purchasing Wholesale Tanning Beds Deals Can Be Very Attractive

By Tim Gorman If you’re interesting in buying tanning beds on a wholesale basis, then the best place to start is by approaching a manufacturer. There are a number of ways you can get a wholesale discount from the manufacturer, so keep these in mind when you call to discuss a possible deal. Firstly, you can organize a discount based on the number of beds you buy. This can get you quite a good discount, because there’s no need to pay any commission to either a wholesaler or retailer. This can make the tanning beds much cheaper. Secondly, why not offer to promote the manufacturer in your salon, along with displaying any other relevant information. Some manufacturers are keen to raise their brand awareness, and may well offer you a discount based on this concept. Finally, why not become a retailer for the manufacturer? This way, you get your tanning beds at a discount, but you also get to make a commission for every sale. This should also mean you get to purchase tanning beds at a discount, the same as any other retailer. But if you find you’re not making much progress with the manufacturer when trying to get a good deal, then there are other ways to buy tanning beds at close to wholesale. Try searching online, as websites have very low overheads and so can offer good deals. Usually they simply take your order and pass it on to their supplier, so they don’t need to spend lots of money on warehouse space. The lack of middlemen in the process means that fewer commissions need to be paid, and that saving can be passed on to you. If you’re going to buy a large number of tanning beds, contact the site owner and see what sort of deal you can organize. Another way to buy a large number of tanning beds cheaply is distress sales. These occur when a tanning salon is going out of business, or perhaps is upgrading all the tanning beds in their salon. Generally the sale is organized by the tanning salon owner, and they will certainly find it a lot more convenient to sell all their tanning beds to one customer, rather than messing about with multiple customers. It’s possible they’ll give you an even better deal for saving them so much trouble. Retailers occasionally offer wholesale deals. As a buyer, you should be able to get a reasonable discount, but it’s unlikely to be as good as the sort of discount you can get dealing directly with a manufacturer. Still buying locally from a retailer means there’s no need for shipping expenses, so it may still work out to be a good deal for you. If the manufacturer is based in a state a long way from where you live, shipping costs may wipe out any additional discount you could negotiate with them. Baby Walker - Friend or Foe?

By Dalene Joubert Baby walkers, or sometimes also called a walking ring date back as far as 1870. Parents have been using this aid to amuse and keep babies occupied for many years. Nowadays many parents use this plaything to encourage their baby to walk. Of course, when parents talk about babies, walkers and encouraging them to walk, one question is bound to be raised sooner or later… “Does a walker really encourage my baby to walk? And will a walker help my child to walk at an earlier age?” The answer lies in looking at the pros and cons. And how to use it sensibly. Normal baby development follows very definite development patterns. These patterns are commonly known as milestones. And each milestone develops very specific skills babies need for normal functioning. Many toys and aids are nowadays designed to encourage and stimulate infants to develop these skills. Thereby stimulating development. On the other hand, walkers were initially used as an aid to give infants the ability to move about in an upright position before they’ve developed the skills to do so on their own. Walkers were not designed to stimulate and encourage normal walking. What it means is this: Before any baby can walk, she must master proper balance and bearing weight on her legs and feet. But when small babies spend most of their early weeks in a walking ring, they almost always learn to walk on their toes. This walking style is abnormal and often shortens the Achilles tendon which eventually messes up your child’s balance when she really starts to walk independently. What’s more, the actual standing position in a walker doesn’t improve an infant’s balance. And teaching the knees to take weight is often disturbed and often does not develop naturally. Practical observations show that many babies who spend most of their days in a walker struggle to or never crawl. This is especially true if a baby is put in a walker at a very early age. Or spends too much time in a walking ring. Crawling on the other hand teaches important motor and perceptual skills such as distance, depth… concepts such as in, out, on and under. Chances are therefore good that a baby who spends too little time crawling won’t properly master or take longer to master these skills. One more important point: Injuries to your baby’s head caused by the walker falling over is probably the single biggest reason to use a baby walker sensibly and under supervision. Bottom line is… spending too much time in a walker rarely encourages your baby to walk sooner. So, is using a walker forbidden? No, definitely not. As long as you use it sensibly and for short periods to keep your child entertained while you’re occupied elsewhere, it can be a good friend. Are you really doing the best for your baby? Mother-in-law AND Daughter-in-law Conflict

By Sadashivan Nair When newcomer wife comes to stay in the new house with husband who is already with other male members, becomes favorable atmosphere for her. Tendency of males to attract females facilitates her to take advantage to establish own atmosphere that matches her identity. This facilitates her to run the home as she wants. On the other hand, if there is already an adult female member (mainly mother-in-law) who controlled the house, turn out to be problems for her and her. Her survival is by surrendering to adjust into the existing environment or fight to gain control to establish own environment. It is a war between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, most popular of any war. It is egoistic war to establish own superiority. A home adorned by woman is her entity. Her own values are involved in making a home that reflects her qualities. Each house interior is different from other is because her deep involvement to decorate that suits her taste. We can observe in a house purchased or hired, woman takes special interest and involve her feeling to decorate and arrange interiors that makes her comfortable. Woman modifies her house to suit her taste is the environment she makes that suits her. The mother who is already in control of her house would not easily leave, is the same case as of politicians who hates to leave legislation membership or seat whatever we may call. This is her house as she has been involved to nurture the house since the beginning. Any challenge is the challenge to her emotions, sense of worth, identity, fondness and finally her control for own security. Thus, she would never wish newcomer to have control on what she amassed for long-long time. This is the psychological behavior with every individual/ any life form. Who creates own territory by involving sentimentally and marks psychologically or physically to declare. Depends how species behave as human declare with flags and animals with other methods. Declaring territory is the sense of security. Similarly, mother too has marked her territory and would resist to any challenge. A son for the mother is the outgrowth of her efforts and emotional involvement. Mainly when she has one son, she expects her son to become security for the family and the old age. Honestly, no aged man or woman would wish to go to old age houses for rest of the life as long as the son is alive. Differences of new generations, old generations, and psychological war between in-laws force to leave the house. When she hands over her son to a new woman, she is cautious that her influence on the son is not disconnected. Her influence on him is the sense of security as he obeys, cares, and respects are his attachment. The new woman (WIFE) cannot tolerate because her sense of security expects 100% involvement from her husband. Wife needs him for her and childrens safety, security, comfort and sensual attachment. The diversion of her husbands attention would minimize her expected desires. Therefore, she declares a war against her mother-in-law aggressively to thwart the weakening realm. However, the outcome depends on how psychologically strong the son/ husband is. How much his attraction or submission to the influence is? How strong the religious influence is? How he handles the situation? Who of two women are more influential is? 99.99 % mothers win over daughter-in-laws in the countries where religious dominance rule. All religious scripts direct the son to follow, respect, care and worship mothers. Therefore, aged are still safe and living with their children. However, in the urban and advanced countries it is the opposite. In such cases, the mothers are psychologically weaker and get defeated to daughter-in-laws. In most cases, wifes inclination is towards her own parents above the husbands parents. She would prefer her mother-father to stay with her provided she wins her husbands mind to agree. The reason of this is that she lived for long-long time, made her involve and attached emotionally with the parents and mixed up intensely to understand the needs of parents and parents understand her needs subsides only when she bears her own children. One thing I would wish to stress that even wife loves and has respect for the mother-in-law; only psychological issues disconnect them. It is not any personal conflict rather is the personality conflict. They involve in the conflict to gain/retain the status and claim rights on the son/husbands attention. So, can retain their say and pull major attention of son/husband towards them. Daughter-in-law should also realize that she too would meet her daughter-in-law in her future when she becomes the mother-in-law. On the other hand, mother-in-law should realize the same way. Wife need to understand that mother-in-law is now aged. The behavior developed from the very beginning, some times is not easy to change. Thus becomes responsibility to understand the situation and act to drag mother-in-law towards her by affection. This technique is an influence to convince mother-in-law that I care her more than even her son. Do not hurt any ones sentiment. Sentiment is the personal value and ego. If you hurt, you become enemy. Besides, putting your own values in front of her, listen to her too and tell to agree which ever is best. Forcing opinions and values is a root to clash. It is a conflict between the new and old generation. Thinking and behavior differ generation to generation. Present generation is more open, free, and demanding than the old. Mother-in-law need to know it is not her era. Opinion and ideological differences lead to misunderstanding. Psychological feelings and horrifying stories about mother-in-law create misunderstanding. Besides, understanding each others stand and responsibilities should work to eliminate feeling of insecurity. Egoistic approach is the root cause that I am the one who is responsible for him. Now he is an adult man can take care himself and your both. Exchange the affection, views, chat, good moments of your life, gifts etc to get closer. Two different identities of different ideologies fight each other to gain control on one man. These two beloved women crush this man in their skirmishes. They do not realize the affect on the man they are fighting-for. In most cases, mother gets defeated in this episode and ends up rest of her life in the old age homes. If wife looses the war, she ends up in marriage failure. Finally, who is the looser? Green, Green Grass of Home

By Andrew Caxton If the look and feel of grass is something that you crave and enjoy, then you need to learn a few things to make your grass as beautiful as you possibly can. By following the tips below, you will find that even you can make a lawn that looks great, does not take a great deal of care, and makes the neighbors and your friends envious. Color Variety of Grass Dark green is the color of grass that most people want for their landscaping projects. There may be a problem with this, however, because the newer, dark green grass may be invaded by the older lighter green grass. If you have existing light green grass and want to make the change to dark green grass, then you will want to choose a grass that blends well after it grows awhile or the existing grass will take over your new grass. All shades of green are pretty. Types of Grass You can find a great variety of native or exotic grasses in all different sizes and shapes. This will help you to find the right grass for your region and climate. You can find the right type of grass for your particular yard. You only need to research the different types of grass to find the best one for your particular yard and situation. Things to Remember The first thing that you need to do before planting your grass is to determine where you are going to plant the grass, what the dimensions of the area are, and what condition the soil is in. The easiest way to find the right type of grass for your particular yard is to ask for advice at your local home and garden center. Planting Your Grass Now that you are ready to plant, you need to determine how you are going to get the grass to your yard either by sowing seeds or by laying sod. New Lawn Care Caring for the investment in time and money that you have put youre your lawn is very important. You need to regularly water your lawn, mow twice a week, edge the lawn every seven or ten days, apply fertilizer about four times per year, and you may need thatch the yard and/or apply lime to the yard one time a year. Water and Fertilize To keep your grass looking great all year around you need to include these two things. Fertilizing and watering your lawn regularly will help your grass to grow bright green and thick. If you need a grass for erosion control or to help absorb toxins or noise, then turf grass is the right type of grass for you. Grass helps to create oxygen for the earth and for you. If you take care of your grass, it will give you years of beauty and health benefits. Who Else Wants To Know How To Eliminate Your Competition With A USP

By Chris Stinson I am not talking about UPS the shipping company I am talking about positioning your product so that when people come across it they fell they need it right now. Put your prospects in a position that you have the best solution and that shopping around is a waste of their time. People are bombarded with information all day long, when they are in their car, in front of their television, or in front of their computers. What you need to do is be able to break through all of the noise they typically tune out. I want to show you how to put your unique selling position in front of more customers and have them stand up and say “I want this product right now.” When you talk about your product do you talk about how long you have been in business and that your company is reliable? Well guess what so do all the other companies in the world. You have to paint a picture in the mind of the prospect and show them how your product will make their life easier. People do not want reliability they want faster, stronger, and better. Take a look at your product and ask yourself what can my product or myself provide that nobody else can give to the prospect. When you can answer this question you set yourself apart from 98% of the marketers today. State your benefits as specifically as you can. If you product is proven to save people money than do not say this will save you a lot of money. Let them know your product will save them x amount of dollars over 5 years. When you are specific people can actually picture the results. When you are vague people have a hard time painting the picture. Make sure you are first in mind when a customer thinks about a specific solution or product. What you are offering does not have to be head and shoulders above the others. Let me give you a great example, McDonalds is probably the most well know company in the world. If McDonalds was put in a blind taste test with many of their competitors do you think they would win? I am pretty sure they would get killed but when most people think of hamburgers and fast food the first place they think about is McDonalds. McDonalds has put their brand name in front of everybody for so long and in so many different mediums that they cannot help but be the number one company in the world. And if you have kids than you know that they would rather go to Mickey Ds than the finest restaurant in town. If you have a product and you go out today and sit down with a pen and paper. Write out a list out what your USP is and use it to your advantage. Selling your product will be a lot easier because your prospect will not have heard any of what you will tell them before and you will stand out from the crowd. People are looking for solutions to their problems you just have to figure out what it is that your product provides and give it to them. Will you continue to sell like everybody else or will you make it easy on yourself and step out from the crowd? Offer you Unique Selling Position today and watch the orders roll in. Crankbait Tactics for Huge Prespawn Bass

By Steven Vonbrandt One of the most effective ways to catch huge prespawn bass in lakes and rivers are lipless crankbaits. These baits are especially effective when the water temperature is between forty-nine and fifty-eight degrees, especially in stained or muddy water in lakes and ponds, but it also works well in the rivers. Some of the techniques outlined below will help you catch bigger bass all over the country in the early spring starting in March, and peaking in April “TYPES OF BAITS There are are variety of lipless crankbaits on the market that catch bass, but in the spring, in most lakes and ponds, in the Northeast, the Rat-L-Trap by Bill Lewis Lures, the Rattlin’ Rapala, Lucky Craft, and the Ambush Stealth Diver, are some of the best. All lipless crankbaits have a different sound. Some are much louder than others, and will produce bass when some other quieter baits won’t. At other times, the more quiet rattling baits will produce better. You just have to experiment with several baits until you find the ones that are producing best in the particular body of water you’re fishing. Sometimes the same baits, in the same size, by the same company, make slightly different sounds that can be better than the other, and experimentation is the only way to find which bait works the best. Some baits won’t run as true at different speeds, and they turn sideways a little more than others, so you just have to watch them in the water, and find the best ones. The hooks should always be changed to a premium hook system such as Daiichi or X-Point. There are many other great hooks, but I prefer these. Most of your lipless crankbaits should be used in a 1/4 to 1/2 ounce size, but recently, bigger bass in the Northeast and in Florida have hit the larger Salt Water Traps in the 3/4 to 1-1/2 ounce sizes. COLORS OF BAITS The best colors for the spring, especially if you have a lot of crawfish in the lake, are red, red/orange, and other variations of these colors. Some have spots on them and these are very effective. The standard chrome, and chrome with a blue back, and chrome and red, have worked especially well for the larger bass. If the water is extremely stained to muddy, we forund that the red, and the chartreuse/brown combinations work well in this kind of situation. If you have a lot of bluegill in the area, and less crawfish or shad, then the Bluegill/Suncracker patterns work very well. The primary forage in the lakes are the best patterns, unless you know that many anglers are aware of this, and are using these colors also. Then switching to unconventional patterns can fool some of the wary bigger bass. Again, we switch only the front hook to a “Bleeding Bait Hook” by TTI-Blakemore, (Daiichi), and then change the back hook to the same brand but in the traditional nickel color. TECHNIQUES Most people just cast the baits out and reel them straight in. While this will always catch some bass, there are more specialized methods that trigger strikes from the bigger bass. Cast the Rat-L-Traps out, and depending on the depth of the water, count them down to the level of the fish before starting the retrieve, and if it is a sandy and/or gravel/rocky type of bottom, let them sink to the bottom, then slowly raise the tip of the rod till you feel the lure vibrating, reeling the slack up slowly, then lower the rod tip, and do it again. Many times they will hit as it is on the bottom, and first starts to be lifted up. If these techniques don’t work in a few hours, use a slight pumping action of the rod as you reel, keeping contact with the bait. If it hits a rock, weeds, or other structure, hesitate a second, and then rip it off quickly, and reel it in with a steady retrieve. You can also yo-yo the bait similar to a spoon or spinnerbait in deeper water near points and drop-offs, which can be extremely effective in colder water or on inactive fish that are suspended. Most of the time in water below fifty-eight degrees they hit very mushy, like grass or leaves, or even like you are snagged on a small branch, but most of the time it is a bass. As they get close to the boat they will see you and make a dash for the trolling motor, and down to deeper water, sometimes even breaking the surface to throw the lure. The bass have to played very carefully as lipless crankbaits come out of the bass’s mouth much more easily than you might imagine. Most of the bass will be in the shallower water off the flats, near deeper water, rip-raps, if available, or any place where there are baitfish and/or cover near the north shore or bay, close to food sources, near their traditional spawning areas. EQUIPMENT I like to use spinning gear for the smaller 1/4 ounce baits, and I use baitcast gear for the larger 1/2 to 1 1/2 ounce baits. I use a 7 foot spinning rod in medium action for the smaller baits, so as not to pull the bait from their mouths, usually a S- Glass rod, a G.Loomis Cranking Stick, or a “Kistler” rod. In the baitcasters, I use a 7 foot, medium to med/heavy rod, with a high speed reel, but many people prefer a good reel in a 5:0:1 or 5:3:1 gear ratio. I always use P-Line or McCoy in ten to twelve pound test, but eight pound test is preferred by many. Stren is also a good line for this. Fan cast the baits in as many directions as possible in the prime areas such as the mouths of the back bays with creeks, where grasses and riprap are on a harder bottom, and you will start picking up some of these monsters this spring. A good scent on the baits, such as “Megastrike” can’t hurt either. This year we have had a tremendous amount of success early in the year with the new “Stealth Diver” by Ambush. This is a very innovative design that funnels water over the face of the bait and into a hole and out the back. It creates a look and sound that most bass have not seen before. All these baits are available in the Delaware Tackle store in Wilmington, Delaware. Sponsored by: GYCB (Yamamoto),TTI-Blakemore, Okuma, and Ambush Lures. Steve is the owner of S&K Guide Service, and Co-owner of Delaware Tackle in Wilmington, Delaware. He also is a tournament angler, radio show host and producer, and freelance outdoor writer. My 10 Triumphant Tricks to Permanent Weight Loss

By Julie McDonald Why cant I stop eating the wrong foods? Why does my weight fluctuate? Why doesnt this diet work? These are questions that I have been asking myself for over 25 years and once and only once did I reach my goal weight..but, I put it all back on plus some! Actually, when I look back over my adult years, this seems to have formed a pattern! Loosing weight then gaining it all back on, then usually more!!!!!!! I had tried almost everything on the diet market to help me loose weight from food delivered to my home to fad dieting to formula drinks but inevitability it all went back on. Over the years of being fat, I would watch all the thin people and secretly admire from a distance I used to fantasize that I was in their body pretending to be them, walk like them, have the family like them, they seemed to have it all I didnt think I did. I used to ask myself, why cant I be like them, why cant I stop eating the wrong foods. My life was reflecting my weight fluctuations. If things werent right in my work or personal life I used to eat! If I was successful at work and happy in my personal life I used to eat! I believe I had become an emotional eating machine .food gave me the comfort I needed. Also, I found that my children were copying my behaviour; they were becoming emotional eating machines, so this also made me eat!!!!! Meanwhile, my wardrobe reflected my yo yo dieting. I had my fat clothes, my medium size clothes and my slim clothes which were ones from 20 years ago! I couldnt throw them out they gave me hope that maybe something would happen and eventually work and I would be wearing them again. I would talk to friends and say it is so hard to loose weight and keep it off and they would agree with me, then we would order a pastry with our latte! I finally realized that my behaviour, my attitude towards myself and my words I used were to my detriment. All the fad diets I had tried gave me a quick fix of the comfort I was seeking, but they never helped me keep the weight off. How can some people achieve their goal weight and keep it there, yet I couldnt? I had read somewhere that fad diets are used to loose a few kilos, like a quick fix, maybe for that special occasion, but they dont assist us in sustaining the weight loss and we inevitably put it all back on, and usually some more. So, I started reading what ever I could get my hands on for alternate ways of maintaining weight loss and developed a program that I used for myself. The results over the last 6 months are 15 kilo (33 lbs) of weight loss, two dress sizes lost AND I am still loosing weight. During my research I studied NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and Hypnosis. Whilst I have used these on myself, I would like to share with you My 10 Triumphant Tricks to Permanent Weight Loss: 1. Affirmations Incorporate positive affirmations in your every day. Choose a separate one each day and say it over and over whenever you remember, such as I like myself or I am worthwhile or I am attractive or I will reach my dress size I desire 2. Mirror Magic When you look at yourself in the mirror, say I am getting slimmer or I like the shape of my body and look at yourself in a positive way. 3. Retail Therapy Buy something you really like in the next size down and hang it in your bedroom so you can easily see it. 4. Visualization Before you fall off to sleep of a night, with your eyes closed, visualize yourself wearing this garment, feel yourself with more energy and vitality, and hear people telling you how fantastic you look. Do this each night. 5. Journal Magic Keep this with you and write in what you are feeling and doing (as in the emotions and activity) when you desire the wrong food. Look at this at the end of the week, and see what pattern of behaviour is. E.g. afternoons you are bored and lacking energy and need that so called sugar fix. There are three answers here. 1. Replace the sugar fix it with that is good food, such as watermelon. 2. Change the activity to another time of the day. 3. Replace the emotion with something you really like to do, e.g. read a book, take a nap or simple go outside and take 10 deep breaths you find what will fulfill that emotion. 6 Take Action Do an exercise that you enjoy, even if it is walking through the water in your pool. Eventually, you will gain more energy and move on to other forms of exercise. 7. Act as if.. Take a look around and find someone who has lost weight and kept it off. Either a friend or a celebrity. Observe or read up on them and find out their method and copy. E.g. they may have found a walking buddy or simply didnt have anything in their home that was the wrong type of food e.g. high in fat. 8 Photo Magic Select some slim photographs of yourself and put them in places in the house you are frequently in. Such as on the fridge, next to your bed, on the mirror and next to the computer. 9. Intentions At the beginning of each day, before you get out of bed, set yourself and intention for the day. E.g. Today is going to be a great day or I will eat sensibly today or I will enjoy my exercise or Today I will eat smaller portions. 10. Believe in yourself This is the most important trick and I have left it to last. Always, always, keep a strong positive belief that you will be the size you truly desire and really live this belief, see it, hear it and feel it. Make it part of your being you do deserve to be the size you dream of! Keep away from negative thoughts, words and behaviours, this will bring you down. Whether you think you will succeed or not, you are right Henry Ford This program will soon be on line to buy, but now only available face to face with Sydney Australia people. I truly wish you all the success. If I can do this, you can too. Please contact me and let me know what you think of my article. Bonsai Tree Ficus Glomerata Variegata Information

By Limadijaya Suhendra I bought the bonsai in northern Bandung in 2004. I drove my own car accompanied by employees. When arrived, I see numerous small and raw bonsai. Some were good, but some were only raw bonsai. Then the owner invited us to see his farm, which had raw bonsai planted in soil and polybags. Some of them were planted from seeds, graftings, and natures. In his farm I saw a Kaliandar Variegata whose flowers were red, like timber tree flowers and I wanted to buy it. Unfortunately, the owner didnt sell because he said it will die if dug in dry season. I was quite confused, since the tree was 2 meter height and had so many saplings. Why didnt he separate them and planted in pots or polybags to be sold. I think the tree was good, because it had yellow striped leaves that very contrast plus red flowers. I thought it will attract so many people to buy. When we were talking, he mentioned about Ficus Glomerata Variegata whose fertile was not good. I was interested to know more because I was interested in collecting rare plants especially that could be created as bonsai. When I saw the plant, it was only planted in polybag using unhulled paddy (paddy plants /rice that are hulled and then separated from the stalks) as media. It was put in the middle of higher trees, so there was possibility watering process could not be completed. Sunshine was also not than one hour, and there were so many branches were not cut in the lower position that made the variegata lost. I think that were the factors. After I bought and took it home, I did the repotting: 1 part soil + 2 part fertilizer + 1 part Malang sand (any sand taken from volcanoes). Before the substances mixed in pot, the bottom should be put filter to shut the hole. On the filter put rough sand (2-3 mm), then softer sand (1 mm), and goat manure (mixed with unhulled paddy) with comparison 1:1. Cut all the branches, leaves including the green and variegata from the stalk. After that, pull the tree from its polybag, clean the soil, and cut and the oversized roots. Finally, put the tree in the pot, do watering, and keep in shaded place. Put in a place with 2 hour morning sunshine when the tree grows new buds. After having many variegata leaves, full dry in the sun. When the tree grow green leaves, cut immediately. The result after 6 months, the tree became so fertile and good. So I started to shape it with Slanting Style. After 2 years with good nursery, it became 80% qualified bonsai. I kept doing the intensive care for the purpose of joining National Bonsai Competition. One day there was a bonsai lover outside Bandung city came to my place to see bonsai. When he saw the Ficus Glomerata Variegata, he was so impressed and eager to buy it. I understood his feeling, because I had ever the same experiences when I wanted to buy good and rare bonsai tree. After he did some very good offer, I sold the tree. Why? Because I had the saplings from prior graftings, so I still could have the same trees. I felt happy because there was a person who appreciated my work from the same hobby. And thats the whole story and experience about how to do repotting and plant bonsai with the substances made especially for the Ficus Glomerata Variegata. I hope my information could give positive input for you, the world bonsai devotees. Thank you and see you in the next blog about Black Pine tree.
